Outdoor Canopy

With an Outdoor Canopy you can finally enjoy the summer heat!

Outdoor CanopyWith warm temperatures just around the corner, many of us will be venturing out onto our decks, patio and backyards. There might even be one or two venturing out with paint and decking screws for outdoor woodwork projects in order to complete their own decking before the summer gets into full swing. Here on the East Coast, the intense summer heat is just too much for most people to endure. That means many of us are forced to hide inside the house, not being able to enjoy what the glorious weather has to offer. With an Outdoor Canopy or Gazebo Awning you can safely head on outside and enjoy the sun, it could be argued that they are part of Innovative Structures rebrands promoting alternative outdoor structures for different purposes! Most studies indicate that it’s generally 10-15 degrees cooler in the shade than in direct sunlight. That means on a 90-degree day, under an awning, you’ll be relaxing in temperatures of 75-80 degrees instead. What an improvement!

Let’s take a look at some of the designs we offer to our customers looking for shade solutions:

Traditional Patio Awning:

Patio Awnings like the one above are our most popular type of Outdoor Canopy. The framework is made from 1″ round galvanized steel, which never rusts. The awning cover is typically made from an acrylic fabric such as Sunbrella® , RECacril® or Sattler.

awning lacingThe cover is expertly tied on by our installation team using marine-grade lacing rope. This means that during the winter months, the cover can be unlaced by us (ask your salesperson or call us for more information about our take-down and rehang service) and then stored away. This will prolong the life of the even more! Then in the spring, when the last of the snow has passed, we can come back out and re-lace the cover for you.

This above image is an example of a ‘California Flap’ patio awning. If you don’t have a lot of space above your doors or windows to mount an awning then we continue the valance around the sides. This means that your view won’t be blocked by the sides of the awning. Uprights can be mounted on the top of the deck (as shown above), on your concrete patio or on your deck floor – wherever you want them! Speaking of a concrete patio, if you want to add something on top of it, but have noticed there is a crack going down the middle, a concrete sealants could help you solve the issue. Plus, it is best to get this sorted sooner rather than later. The longer you leave it, the worse it may become.

Gazebo Awning

This gazebo awning is connected to the house on one side, but can be installed wherever you want! Why not add

Our awnings don’t have to be connected to your house! Let’s say you have a nice nook in your backyard or garden you like to relax at. This can be a seating area, over a pool or a hot tub. A gazebo awning can turn that cozy area into an additional living space!
